A two hour workshop designed to produce and promote art, literature and performance outreach in Lamesa. Each presenter will weave geo-specific and personal references about their involvement in the writing/art/music outreach in Lamesa, Texas, via Forrest Fest through community radio, public performance in nursing homes, elementary schools, senior citizens centers, boys and girls clubs, local drive-inn theater and community theater audiences. An audience questionaire and response time at the end of each speaker will address local themes and the nature of local cultural enrichment contributions to Texas arts and letters. The dialogue will address involvement and awareness of the ability to be involved in the creative culture of the community. A handout to record audience response and feedback will be completed throughout the workshop and a projection of how Lamesa might act as a role model for other Texas towns to emulate and how Forrest Fest might be an umbrella for future scripting and initiatives to enrich demand for local access.
